Jessica (Tyner) Mehta is a poet and novelist. She is a member of the Cherokee Nation and author of ten books, including the forthcoming Savagery (poetry), the forthcoming Drag Me Through the Mess (poetry), and You Look Something (literary fiction). She is also the author of the poetry collections Constellations of My Body, Secret-Telling Bones, Orygun, What Makes an Always, and The Last Exotic Petting Zoo as well as the novel The Wrong Kind of Indian. She has been awarded the Barbara Deming Memorial Fund Prize in Poetry, the Potlatch Award for Native Artists, and numerous poet-in-residence posts around the world, including Hosking Houses Trust with an appointment at The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, in Stratford-Upon-Avon, England; and Paris Lit Up, in France. Jessica is a poetry editor for Bending Genres and founder of the Get it Ohm! karma yoga movement.
