spiders that have crept back
into the wine room corners. I like to
leave them, to
leave something alive
Espresso cups clicking into their saucers,
Sudden outbursts of laughter,
And the background hum of Brazilian bees socializing.
What’s needed now is bodies—
when the cold wind blows
